Suddenly, Craft

I DIYed. It was entirely impulsive, and turned about better than expected (even though it is technically still a WIP.)

More pictures and some info below the jump.

I bought a succulent a few days ago for my cactus' sake. I didn't want him to be alone. So his new friend came home with me in an awful, zebra striped, flimsy pot. This simply could not do. After returning home from the post this morning, I randomly set out to remedy the situation. Because anytime's as good a time as any.

While looking for more mason jars to put the recently-divided up succulent, I came across these little beauties in the garage. They're essentially square tubes. I couldn't tell you what they are from, but I knew they were perfect when I saw them. So I devised a plan.

First I decided to try to sit them on a small wooden plank. I screwed some screws into the wood before I realized the heads made it unstable. Rather than add something else onto it, I just unscrewed them, and cast the wood aside.

I then glued the four pieces together, and wrapped some electrical tape around them so the glue would set the way I wanted. I then put some tape on the bottom of the tubes, and filled them with rocks (for drainage), then soil, then the succulent. I plan to mount the tubes onto a plank of some kind soon, I just need to find the right one.

So, there you have it. A full hour and fifteen minutes later, I had something actually pretty neat. And handmade.

(Hopefully it will be updated soon!)

P.S. Her name is Jane.
